I was born in late 1950. In the summer of 1957 my Dad took my Mom, sister, our house dog Cricket and me on our first fishing trip. We went to the Danville Grain Elevator via a small fishing boat and spent the night out on the roof. WE all caught fish that weekend but I do remember that my Mom caught the biggest fish on this trip. We returned several other times over the next few years. I was hooked on fishing. I grew up fishing and have fished hundreds of tournaments overs the years and have plans at age 64 to fish a tournament in May, 2015. I will wet a line at the Grain Elevator that weekend. I have lost both parents to health reasons but if anyone reads this please take a kid fishing and who knows it might get them HOOKED on Fishing instead of Drugs. That’s what my Mom & Dad did. I will never forget that weekend!
Super cool, a little creepy, but never seen anything else like it!
Went to this area to look at property, saw the ferry and crossed. At the time we didnt know what this place was. Very erie, interesting place. I guess the rail trestle is remnant from civil war as well. Scenic area..
Love to ride through here on boat!!
